  • Generally, the maximum mortgage amount available through most French banks is limited to 80% of the purchase price excluding notaire's fees, (and sometimes the estate agent's commission if paid separately by the buyer). If the property is in good order and the valuer's opinion of the property is positive, this can sometimes be increased to 85% or 90%.

  • In addition, up to 80% of any intended renovation costs can also be financed by mortgage.
